Refrigeration reclaimed is a gas cooling process used which has been used in some type of cooling loop to meet the specifications for the new refrigerant gas. In the United States, the Clean Air Act of 1990 requires that refrigerants used are processed by certified reclaimers, which must be licensed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and materials must be recovered and delivered to the reclaimer by the EPA. - certification technician.

Coolants and coolers are found throughout the industrial world, in homes, offices, and factories, on devices such as refrigerators, air conditioners, central air conditioning systems (HVACs), freezers, and dehumidifiers. When these units are serviced, there is a risk that the cooling gas will be released into the atmosphere, the creation of technician training and certification programs to ensure that the material is conserved and managed safely. The persecution of these gases has been shown to deplete the ozone layer and is thought to contribute to global warming.

Refrigerant reclamation used by EPA certified reclaimers is required to sell used refrigerants not originated from and intended for use with motor vehicle and stationary appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, central air conditioning systems (HVAC), and other cooling. equipment. The EPA adopted the Federal Regulatory Code in 1995 to develop measures to meet the agreements set out in the Montreal Protocol.

Reclamation, because it refers to refrigerant, is one of three components in the cooling management process.

EPA defines reclaimed refrigerant as "Reclaim refrigerant means to reprocess the refrigerant at least the purity specified in appendix A to 40 CFR part 82, sub section F (based on AHRI Standard 700-1993, Specifications for Fluorocarbons and Other Cooling) and to verify this purity using the analytical methodology specified in Appendix A. In general, reclamation involves the use of processes or procedures that are only available at reprocessing or manufacturing facilities. "

The EPA sets out rules and regulations that must be recognized by endorsement, and they license these retidents to operate. In many cases, wholesale distributors provide this service as an intermediary, because they have great resources to manage distribution.

The EPA requires that refrigerants be reclaimed when a certified technician retrieves the refrigerant and puts it in a special DOT container and has no desire to return it to the same system from which it was restored.

Certification program

The final rule issued on May 14, 1993, requires that refrigerants sold to new owners be reclaimed to Standard 700 AHRI purity by certified reclaimers (Section 82.154 (g) and (h) standard reference in Section 82.164 and the definition of reclamation found in Section 82.152). As discussed in the final rule, this requirement protects the refrigerant purity used to prevent damage to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment from the use of contaminated refrigerants. Damage to equipment from contaminated refrigerants will result in costs for equipment owners, in the release of refrigerant from damaged equipment through increased leakage, servicing and replacement, and a reduction of consumer confidence in the quality of refrigerants used. This reduction in consumer confidence may lead to early retirement or retrofit of CFC or HCFC equipment because consumers will no longer believe that sufficient supplies of reliable cooling are available.

AHRI develops standards and manages third party program testing and certification. AHRI oversees ARI's reclaim program: Certification of Refrigerant Testing Laboratory. Find Certification Laboratory Testing Refrigerant Certified Certified ARI.

The certification program includes verification for all participating participating refrigeratory testing labs, performing ARI-700 tests on any new refrigerant or reclamation.

AHRI also works with many participants in the industry to ensure that the standards expected to be achieved by the reclamator are well defined and support the highest level of integrity so that technicians can be confident in the materials they use and install.

Before reclamation can begin, the material must be recovered and the EPA defines that as "Restoring refrigerant means removing refrigerant under any conditions from the appliance and storing it in an external container without the need to test or process it in any way."

Some of the circumstances in which the material is inserted back into the system were removed and not transferred to the new system of recyclable materials and the EPA defines that as "refrigerant recycling means to extract refrigerant from clean appliance and refrigerant for reuse without meeting all requirements for In general, recycled refrigerants are refrigerants that are cleaned by oil separation and one or more through the device, such as replaceable-core dryers, which reduce moisture, acidity and particles, usually implemented at fieldwork sites.
