Skin care is a cosmetic interface, and dermatology, a traditional medical discipline; there is some overlap with each of these topics.

The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act defines cosmetics as a product intended to clean or beautify (eg, shampoo and lipstick). Separate categories exist for drugs, intended to diagnose, cure, reduce, treat, or prevent disease, or affect the body's structure or function (eg, sunscreen and acne cream), although some products, such as sunscreen moisturizer and anti-dandruff shampoo , arranged in both categories.

Skin care differs from dermatology, as is done traditionally, by additional scope but is less medical and with the inclusion of non-doctoral professionals, such as beauticians and wound care care staff. Skin care includes modification of individual behavior and environmental and work conditions. However, dermatology has co-opted several aspects of skin care, particularly in the US, and to a much lower degree elsewhere, such as the United States.

Neonate

Guidelines for neonatal skin care have been developed. Nevertheless, the pediatric and dermatological communities have not reached consensus on best cleaning practices, as good-quality scientific evidence is scarce. Soaking in water seems better than washing it yourself, and the use of synthetic detergents or liquid baby cleaning fluids seems comparable or higher than water alone. Add from

Sunscreen

Sun protection is an important aspect of skin care. Although the sun is beneficial for the human body to get a daily dose of vitamin D, unprotected sunlight can cause extreme damage to the skin. Ultraviolet radiation (UVA and UVB) in sunlight can cause sunburn in various levels, premature aging and an increased risk of skin cancer. UV exposure can cause uneven skin tone and dry skin.

This can reduce skin elasticity and encourage the formation of wrinkles and wrinkles. Sunscreen can protect the skin from sun damage; sunscreen should be applied at least 20 minutes before exposure, and should be re-applied every four hours. Sunscreen should be applied to all areas of the skin to be exposed to sunlight, and at least one tablespoon (25 ml) should be applied to each branch, face, chest and back, to ensure overall coverage. Many colored moisturizers, foundations and primers now contain some form of SPF.

Sunscreen can come in the form of creams, gels or lotions; their SPF numbers show their effectiveness in protecting the skin from solar radiation. There are sunscreen available for every skin type; in particular, those with oily skin should opt for noncommunogenic sunscreen; those with dry skin should choose sunscreen with a moisturizer to help keep the skin hydrated, and those with sensitive skin should choose without taste, hypoallergenic sunscreen and spot-tests in inconspicuous places (such as the inside of the elbow or behind the ears) to make sure it does not irritate the skin.

Elderly

Skin aging is associated with increased susceptibility. Skin problems including pruritus often occur in the elderly but are often not treated properly. A literature review of studies that assessed the maintenance of skin integrity in the elderly found the lowest level of evidence but the review concluded that cleansing the skin with synthetic detergents or amphoteric surfactants causes less skin dryness than using soap and water. Humectant humidifiers help to cope with skin dryness, and skin barrier can reduce skin injury.

Acne

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, between 40 and 50 million Americans suffer from acne each year. While many acne associations with teenagers, acne can occur at any age. The causes of acne can include heredity/genetics, hormones, menstruation, food, and emotional stress.

There are several ways to help reduce the effects of acne. Use a soft exfoliating product, such as scrubs that contain sea salt or jojoba beads rather than using sharp seeds, granules, or chaff. Exfoliation should be done only by skin type. Those who have acne inflammation should exfoliate carefully as this procedure may aggravate the condition and consult a dermatologist before treatment. Some anti-acne creams contain dryers such as benzoyl peroxide (in concentrations 2.5 - 10%), which can help relieve acne in certain cases - especially among teenagers. However, many adults can not tolerate intense drying effects and may experience cracked skin and red spots the longer they use the product. Users often choose to stop using the product if the skin experiences extreme side effects imposed by the product.

Radiation

Radiation induces skin reactions in the treated area, especially in the axilla, head and neck, perineum and skin folds. Formulations with moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and wound healing properties are often used, but no preferred approach or individual product has been identified as best practice. A soft silicone dressing that acts as a friction barrier can help. In breast cancer, calendula cream can reduce the severity of the effects of radiation on the dark point corrector. The use of deodorants after completing radiation treatment has become controversial but is now recommended for exercise. Add from

Similar products in perceived but verbally digested benefits are known as nutricosmetics. According to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act "does not recognize categories such as" cosmeceuticals. "A product can be a drug, a cosmetic, or a combination of both, but the term" cosmeceutical "has no meaning under the law". Medicines must go through an intensive examination and approval process by the FDA. Cosmetics, and related products, although regulated, are not approved by the FDA before being sold.
