Plot
This compilation features the full version of Final Fantasy IV
In Interlude , players control Cecil. The story begins at Castle Baron after Cecil dreams about one of Crystal Chambers, where he sees Rydia and hears a voice saying "Finally, it has a new form." When the sound would appear, Rosa woke her. Cecil and Rosa leave for one of the Red Wings for Damcyan. Meanwhile, at Feymarch, Rydia will leave when she confronts Asura, Queen Feymarch, who asks where she is going. Rydia tells her that she is heading to Damcyan for a reconstruction celebration, and Asura let her pass.
During the celebration, a guard enters and informs Yang that some monks have been brutally assaulted on Mt. Hobbs. Hearing this, Yang decides to leave, and Cecil and Rosa volunteer to join him. When they got to the top of Mt. Hobbs, they found two injured monks, who healed Rosa. Soon after, they were attacked by Dad's Bomb. When they defeat Dad's Bomb they head to Fabul where Yang Sheila's wife will give birth to Ursula. Yang asks Cecil to become Ursula's godfather, whom he is happy to accept.
When Cecil and Rosa were about to leave, they met Cid, Luca, Palom and Porom, who told Cecil a bunch of monsters had emerged from the Sealed Cave. When they are about to take off, Cecil tells Yang to stay with his family. Cid notices that Rosa looks pale and Cecil asks Yang to take care of her as she leaves. Once they reached the Sealed Cave, they saw the Tower of Babel beating with light. The tip of this notice is also from Eblan, and set out to enter the Tower through an underground passage. After Cecil and the others reached the Crystal Chamber they were attacked by Demon Wall and narrowly defeated him. At Crystal Chamber they meet Rydia. However, he does not remember where he is, but he says that "they" call him. While everyone was wondering who exactly "they" were, the party decided that they should go to the Tower of Babel and investigate.
As they climb the tower, Rydia begins to regain her vocation and act more strangely. As they passed the cannon control room, Rydia entered and three guards came out to stop Cecil and the others following her. The three guards join Deus Ex Mechina, where the Edge point arrives to assist in defeating him. After the guards were destroyed, the party headed into the control room, but Rydia could not be found. They decide to keep climbing the tower in the hope that they will find it, only to find out that he is a fraud, because he attacked them with the Eidolon he got. When Rydia falsely calls Bahamut, the real Rydia shows up and prevents her from attacking the party. Although they defeated fake Rydia, he escaped and reported to his "creator", who lives in the True Moon, that the Eidolon project is completed. Back to earth, in Cecil's bedroom, Rosa lies on the bed and Cecil asks if she's okay. Then it was revealed that Rosa was pregnant. Everyone was very happy with the news, and they told Cecil that he should start with a few names.
Meanwhile, at Mt. The ordeal, Cain, who still repented for the mistakes he made during Final Fantasy IV , heard a voice calling him.
Reception
This collection sold over 198,000 copies in Japan by the end of 2011. It has received most positive reviews. Famitsu gave it 30 out of 40 from a panel of four reviewers. IGN gave it 9 out of 10, concluding that if "You have not played Final Fantasy IV , is an RPG fan, and not finding yourself really impressed with the game, I would be surprised." 1UP.com B-, describes the original game as "masterpiece" but refers to its follow-up as "pale imitation."
GameZone is less impressed, giving a 4.5 out of 10 collection, stating that "This Complete Collection is difficult to recommend" as a package, and that its sales point, The After Years , " no big shakes as the story, and a high-res makeover gives it some of the same visuals as a search center. "
